Stargard Geothermal - Bringing Europe’s 7th Largest Geothermal Plant to the Surface

Supplying over 62% of the heat for Stargard’s municipal network, G-Term Energy operates the 7th largest geothermal plant in continental Europe. With zero prior marketing presence, NEXT Design engineered their complete digital ecosystem from scratch - combining a 3D/Rive interactive Webflow platform, on-location film production, and a data-driven public awareness campaign under one roof.

Interactive Engineering - 3D Rive Diorama & Poland Resource Map

Interactive 3D Rive Diorama & Custom Hex-Cell Data Mapping

To explain complex subterranean engineering to everyday residents, we modeled an isometric 3D diorama of Stargard and brought it to life using interactive Rive state machines. Visitors can toggle between winter and summer cycles, explore how 90°C brine extracted from nearly 3 km underground transfers clean heat to the city grid, and see how geothermal energy powers 62% of the municipal network.

Alongside local education, we engineered the most comprehensive Interactive Map of Geothermal Resources in Poland available online. Built as a dynamic 3 km hex-cell heatmap showing thermal temperatures at a depth of 2,000 meters, the tool maps every active geothermal heating plant, key research borehole, and scientific institution across the country - establishing gterm.pl as a national industry reference.

Video Production

An on-site interview with the President of Stargard Geothermal, recorded inside one of continental Europe’s most efficient renewable heating plants. Directed, filmed on location in Stargard, and edited in-house by NEXT Design to give residents an authentic look behind the scenes of their city’s clean energy engine.

The Challenge & Full-Scope Campaign Strategy

Uncovering a Hidden Giant Through End-to-End Campaign Execution

Despite ranking as the 7th largest geothermal plant in continental Europe (excluding Iceland and Turkey) and covering over 62% of heat demand in a network reaching 90% of residents, Stargard Geothermal remained virtually invisible to the public. Because heat is delivered to homes via the municipal distributor (PEC) - which generates the remaining share from costly coal and dominates local communications - residents were unaware that a world-class renewable facility was operating beneath their feet.

Instead of hiring separate agencies for web development, 3D graphics, PR strategy, and media buying, the client relied on NEXT Design for complete single-studio execution. We architected the campaign strategy, designed and coded HTML5 animated display banners, deployed targeted media placements across local and national portals, and configured full UTM tracking with GA4 analytics to measure real-time resident engagement.

The 3 Campaign Pillars & Data Transparency

Three Strategic Pillars: Pride, Price Transparency & Clean Air

We structured the public awareness campaign into three sequential two-week media flights, each driving traffic from targeted HTML5 banners to dedicated interactive landing pages:

  • 01 // Pride & Scale: Awakening civic pride by showcasing hard operational metrics - 90°C thermal water resources and Stargard’s position among Europe’s elite geothermal leaders.
  • 02 // The Real Price of Heat: Countering local myths and coal-operator narratives with transparent tariff visualizations. Interactive diagrams clearly separated clean, lower-cost geothermal heat production from expensive coal generation and network distribution fees.
  • 03 // 3,000 Unburned Coal Wagons: Translating 15 years of ecological data into an unforgettable visual metric: nearly 3,000 sixty-ton rail wagons of coal (over 170,000 tonnes) that never entered or burned above Stargard thanks to zero-emission geothermal heat.
