Lafarge Product Catalog (600 pages)
600 pages Technical Catalog for Lafarge
600 Pages of Technical Precision
The Brief
Lafarge asked NEXT Design to create its large product catalogue – more than 600 pages of product sheets with technical data and visuals for the company’s entire product range. A publication of this scale demands a rigorous design system: consistent layouts, a clear data hierarchy and imagery that makes hundreds of products easy to compare.
3D Instead of Warehouse Photos
Our Approach
At the time, the standard for building products was black-and-white photos taken on a wholesaler’s warehouse floor. We took a different route: every product was modelled and visualised in 3D by our studio – then a novelty and a rarity in the industry. 3D allowed us to show products in cross-sections and isometric views, revealing structure and layers in a clean, attractive way that no photograph could.
A New Standard for the Category
The Result
The result was a catalogue that combined engineering clarity with visual quality, giving contractors, distributors and specifiers a reference tool that was both accurate and pleasant to use. It set a benchmark for how building materials could be presented – and it remains an early example of the 3D production expertise that is now a core NEXT Design discipline.
